Webinar: Air pollution and health: how particulate matter leads to illness - 1 May, 2019

The health effects of exposure to air pollution are complex and depend on the physical and chemical characteristics of the pollution source, the dose and context of exposure and the characteristics of the person exposed. In this seminar, Graeme will present an overview of the mechanisms underlying the health effects of exposure to air pollution with a focus on particulate matter. He will cover aspects of inhalation, the fate of particles once they enter the body, how the particles interact with cells in the lung, and how all of these factors can drive the adverse health effects of exposure to air pollution.
