Emerging Air Quality Professionals (EAQP) presents:
Faces of CASANZ
The EAQP are pleased to present the fourth of a series of informal sessions, introducing EAQPs to some of the faces of CASANZ.
Matthew Riley – Society Treasurer
Matthew is an experienced Science Director with a proven track record of delivering high impact environmental research and services. His work for the NSW Government delivering multi-million dollar programs in air quality, regional climate modelling, climate change impacts and adaptation, greenhouse gas emissions and energy and energy efficiency, has led to significant benefits for NSW. Matthew leads a team of skilled climate and atmospheric researchers, technicians, programmers and data analysts that study and observe our climate, urban air quality and meteorology, greenhouse gas emissions and energy systems.
The Climate and Atmospheric Science Branch that he leads operates the most comprehensive air quality monitoring network in Australasia, with nearly 100 stations across NSW, Victoria and South Australia. His branch also delivers daily air pollution forecasts for NSW and provides emergency monitoring and forecasting services. He always aims to provide high quality policy advice for Government, and deliver data and information that: protects public health through improved air quality and air pollution alerts; and supports communities and businesses to prepare for the impacts of climate change. He has been a proud CASANZ member since 2003 and is the current Society Treasurer.
