Faces of CASANZ
The EAQP are pleased to present the next in a series of informal sessions, introducing EAQPs to some of the faces of CASANZ.
Andrew Balch – QLD Branch President – Odour SIG Deputy-Chair
Andrew Balch is an accomplished air quality scientist and Certified Air Quality Professional (CASANZ) with more than 25 years of experience. He has managed many significant and complex development assessment and environmental evaluation projects across Australia and overseas.
With an educational background in atmospheric science and meteorology, Andrew’s skills and experience includes air and odour source sampling, odour testing using dynamic olfactometry, ambient odour surveillance, air dispersion modelling, meteorological modelling, ambient air and meteorological monitoring, and the preparation of air quality and odour impact assessments and management plans. He has also provided expert testimony and advice in court and mediation hearings.
While Andrew began his career working for several well respected Australian air quality and odour consultancies, he has been managing his own consulting business, Air Environment, since 2013. This has allowed him to work on a broad range of air quality and atmospheric science related projects.
Andrew has also been very active within CASANZ for many years and is currently the President of the Queensland Branch and the Deputy Chair of the Odour Special Interest Group.
