Description

Coal dust is an issue of community concern in urban environments, such as along the rail corridor and near coal ports. It is necessary to be able to provide quantitative information for the coal and other particulates which are present as nuisance and respirable dust in a manner that not only stand up to scientific scrutiny but is also accepted by the local community.   Graham’s talk will provide detail of the optical reflected light microscopy imaging method which CSIRO have developed and of the results obtained for urban dust samples which have been collected using High Volume Air Samplers.
