Consultation on light and heavy vehicle emission standards for cleaner air

The Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications has released two draft Regulation Impact Statements that are considering the case for mandating more stringent noxious emission standards for light and heavy vehicles in Australia.

This includes:

  • a draft Regulation Impact Statements on the possible introduction of improved noxious emissions standards, known as Euro 6, for new light vehicles.
  • a draft Regulation Impact Statements on the possible introduction of improved noxious emissions standards, known as Euro VI, for new heavy vehicles.

CASANZ Transport and Policy SIGs have prepared a submission on the two draft Regulation Impact Statements on behalf of CASANZ. We are inviting comments from CASANZ members on this draft submission.
